"Avoid Blue Pacific Rentals - Our Experience"
We were long-time customers of Blue Pacific for 20 years, but after our experience in July 2022, we’re done for good. The customer service was lacking, and their business practices left a lot to be desired.
In our 3-bedroom rental (Reflections of the Sea at the Village at North Pointe in Depoe Bay) for 6 nights, we got just 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, and 3 garbage bags for 5 people. When we asked for more garbage bags to follow their checkout rules, they told us to buy our own—can you believe that?
They also seem to change their prices whenever they feel like it, taking advantage of customers. We’re definitely going with another company next time and are considering filing a complaint with the BBB.

"Unlawful Charges by Blue Pacific"
Ever wonder why they ain't got a Facebook or any social media? It's 'cause they don't want the truth about their service getting out.
Blue Pacific hit my credit card with two unauthorized charges. One was for claiming I didn’t take out the trash and that it took extra time to clean. I disputed that charge, and guess what? They slapped me with another $125 charge just for contesting it. They kept bugging me with phone calls and texts, pushing me to pay that extra $125.

"Terrible customer support from Blue Pacific!"
We had a really bad experience with Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals! When we got there, we found that the unit was lacking several items that we had during our last three visits. (Like some extra toilet paper, Kleenex, enough towels, and washcloths, you know?) We asked Blue Pacific for these missing items. Their reply left us stunned. They claimed their team takes photos of everything after stocking a unit for new guests and had 'confirmed' that it was fully equipped. Seriously? We just forked over $2,492.68, and she dares to question our honesty over a few rolls of toilet paper? We calmly told her we checked everywhere, and the stuff just wasn’t there. While we were out, their staff did bring some of the missing items. (But they still forgot the Kleenex…) Instead of owning up to their mistake and saying sorry, Blue Pacific had the nerve to send this follow-up message: 'Our staff member was able to come by and verified supplies in the bathrooms. The additional towels, hand towels, and washcloths were in the bathroom cupboard/drawer and double checked. She was also able to verify both restrooms were supplied with 2 additional rolls of toilet paper under each sink as per the standard starter items for all units and verified each bathroom had Kleenex on the counter.' Does she think we’re blind? My husband and I usually don’t get riled up, but this really hit a nerve. Treating a customer like this, especially over something so minor, is the epitome of awful customer service. (I’d expect better from a Motel 6!) Their poor rating with the Better Business Bureau just gives us more reason to steer clear of this company.
"Avoid Renting from Blue Pacific Vacation Rental"
Steer clear of properties managed by Blue Pacific Vacation Rental. Their customer service is just terrible! We’ve been renting a place in Depoe Bay (The Lighthouse) for four out of the last five years. This time, we actually needed the management company. The unit was missing a bunch of essentials like toilet paper, Kleenex, and hand towels. We let Blue Pacific know about it politely, but they shot back with a really rude reply, suggesting we were either clueless, lying, or both. Eventually, the staff did bring the missing items, but what a pain that was! And not even a simple apology! We’re done renting from this company. They’ve definitely earned those ratings: 1.5 stars on Yelp and 1 star from the Better Business Bureau.

"AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!"
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! Blue Pacific is a money-hungry business that has exploited numerous families during the Covid-19 pandemic. They pocketed our rental money after we had to cancel because of some high-risk family members. We forked out over $10k for a week in Sunriver, Oregon, in one of their big homes. We thought we could just shift our booking to 2021, but they turned us down and only offered us three other lousy options that were clearly in their favor. Just so you know, this was months ahead of our scheduled week in Sunriver, Oregon.
In the end, we had no option but to accept a 50% refund, meaning Blue Pacific kept the other $5k. To add insult to injury, they rented out the house that same week. A decent company would have been upfront and said, "Hey, we’re all set, so here’s your refund. We’d love to have you back next year." How tough is that? That’s exactly what every other rental company in SR did. We checked.
We’ve rented from Blue Pacific multiple times over the years and even recommended them to friends. That’s never happening again, and we’ll be spreading the word about our awful experience to as many folks as we can.
Our big family has been going to Sunriver every summer for over 30 years. This company has taken advantage of us and others during this crisis. Shame on you! You owe us $5,000 that we’ll never see.
As they say, one bad review is worth five good ones. Well, brace yourselves for some negative feedback. You’ve definitely earned it!

"Blue Pacific's COVID Policy is a Joke?!?"
From what I've seen in the many reviews since the pandemic hit, this company has really taken advantage of folks like us—long-time customers with 13 rentals under our belt!
We had to cancel our plans because multiple families were coming from all over, and some had serious health issues. It was one of the toughest transactions we've ever had to deal with. We weren't even looking for a refund; we just wanted to roll our payment over to next year’s rental. But they said it wasn’t allowed 'per the contract.' Come on, COVID wasn’t even a thing when we signed that! They were rude, didn’t return our calls, and ignored the guidelines from Oregon's governor.
In the end, our family decided to go on vacation to Sunriver without the rest of the crew. We reached out to a few other property management companies and VRBO, and guess what? They all had super flexible cancellation policies during this whole mess. We ended up booking with 'Village Properties at Sunriver,' and they were so kind and helpful through all our inquiries.
Also, after renting from another company, we realized that Blue Pacific's cleaning requirements are just over the top! This year, all we had to do was take out the trash and start the dishwasher—easy peasy. But with Blue Pacific, it’s a whole different story. The housekeeping fee they charge makes you think you’ll walk into a spotless place, but it’s just a surface clean that never feels truly fresh.
Blue Pacific isn’t local and they’re not friendly. Seriously, steer clear and support the many other local businesses in Sunriver!
"Blue Pacific: Great Rentals, Lousy Service"
For over 15 years, my family and I have been renting from Blue Pacific. We kept coming back because of the awesome properties they had. However, the customer service? Well, it was just okay at best. It often felt like we were a bother whenever we had a question or needed something. Then came Covid-19, and our frustration hit a whole new level. Their rigid adherence to the standard terms and conditions was really annoying and disappointing. I mean, this is a once-in-a-century pandemic! You'd think, like most rental companies, Blue Pacific would be willing to change their policies a bit. But nope. We followed the CDC guidelines and the Governor of Oregon's orders to decide if we should go on a family trip. Yet, Blue Pacific kept pointing back to the contract terms, even going so far as to say the Governor's orders didn’t apply to vacation rentals. I had to chuckle at that. Seems like they might have a legal expert on staff! Even with 14 of us from four different families, which is exactly what the CDC and the Governor were concerned about, they just wouldn’t budge. Some of our group had pre-existing health issues too. My recommendation? Steer clear of Blue Pacific. They have fantastic properties, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It’s way better to work with a company you actually want to deal with, rather than one you feel stuck with.

"Steer Clear of Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals"
Dealing with Blue Pacific Vacation Rentals during the COVID-19 crisis was a real headache. They were super rigid and wouldn’t budge on any reasonable requests we had.
We booked our stay a whole year ahead and put down a deposit for a trip in July 2020. We even paid the full amount on March 1, 2020, right before everything went south.
They wouldn’t let us shift our booking to 2021 and acted like the pandemic wasn’t even happening. We had rented from them five times before, always paying on time and treating their properties with respect.
The customer service was just terrible, showing no appreciation for our loyalty and completely failing to take the right approach.

"Still No Resolution in Sight..... :("
I’m still waiting for this problem with Blue Pacific to be sorted out. They don’t pick up the phone or respond to emails when there are issues. But if you’ve got a credit card for a deposit, suddenly they’re all ears. They owe my family and me $10,619 and have been holding onto our cash for more than a year.

"This home was a total hit for us"
We really enjoyed our stay at this place. There’s not a single thing we’d want to alter. The Depot Bay region is fantastic, and the eateries around here are just phenomenal.

"Our Time at Blue Pacific Rentals..."
For the past 9 years, we’ve been enjoying our stays at Blue Pacific vacation rentals. We wouldn’t consider booking with anyone else since our experiences have always been positive. We can count on our condo being clean and ready for us when we get there.

"Amazing condo experience!"
We absolutely adored this specific condo! The views were breathtaking, and the master bedroom right by the ocean helped me drift off to sleep with the soothing sound of the waves. The kitchen was fantastic and super well-equipped. It was in pristine shape and could easily accommodate two couples with two master suites! The location was perfect for everything you might need, plus there was a great hot tub on the deck for those chilly evenings. Having a washer and dryer was such a bonus! Honestly, I can’t rave enough about this condo and the staff I interacted with. We usually rent 5-6 times a year, and this one is definitely among my top picks!
"Beachside Fun"
Great spot! Comfortable lodging. Really like the shaded parking. Looking forward to coming back.

"Highly Professional Service"
Blue Pacific handled everything related to the vacation home we rented with great professionalism. We encountered a few small issues and had some questions while we were there, and Blue Pacific got back to us super fast. I’d definitely recommend them and would use their services again.

"Kitchen Stocked to the Brim"
The kitchen was stocked to the brim! We had everything we needed. The decor was charming and really fit the vibe of the area. The beds? Oh man, those mattresses were super comfy. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them. I’d love to find out the brand. There’s plenty to do inside the house to keep everyone busy, plus we had bikes and Shark passes to explore the nearby attractions.
This place is huge, with a bathroom for each bedroom, so no one had to share. It was just right for our group. However, I reckon with a house this size, they might need more cleaning staff to keep up between guests. It felt like some cleaning tasks were rushed to make sure check-ins were on time.
All in all, we had a blast on our vacation. The surroundings were stunning, and everything promised about the property was delivered! We’re definitely thinking about coming back someday.
